Sermon Questions from April 24, 2011

During our Easter Service, Pastor Conway preached a sermon entitled, “Choose Right.” Here are the answers to the questions that we received:

Q: During the Easter service the pastor said that there is no purgatory, but isn’t that how it will be for the people left after the rapture for 1000 years?
A: The period immediately following the rapture is called the Tribulation. It will last for 7 years. Following the Tribulation will come a time called the Millenium. It will last for 1000 years. This is not purgatory. Purgatory is a doctrine of the Roman Catholic church that describes a sort of holding place between earth and heaven for those who have died. Read more…

The Word

The Story
Just like so many others, I’ve faced countless tribulations and hardships in life. When I was younger I would often turn to the wrong people or activities for comfort and consolation. Instead of turning the other cheek, I would often seek retribution by my own hand. It wasn’t until I accepted Christ into my life that I understood that God is my foundation.
